Front Street Books is a member of the American Booksellers Association (ABA)( www.bookweb.org ), an effective advocacy organization; and of the American Booksellers Foundation for Freedom of Expression (ABFFE), which works to protect our freedom to publish, read, and sell without interference.
We also belong to Mountains and Plains Independent Booksellers Association, a regional affiliate of the ABA, which convenes in regional trade shows where staff can meet with authors, publishers, sales representatives, and other independent book dealers. We list hundreds of collectible and out-of-print, books on www.abebooks.com.
Our store comprises two buildings that house new, used, and collectible books. Founded in 1995, Front Street Books, Alpine, has grown to be an important part of the greater Big Bend area. We work to serve our community on many levels, through volunteer activities and proactive service. Our satellite store in Marathon, which began operation on March 1, 1998, was closed at the end of April, 2013.
