October 13, 2007 - World Premiere of Edwin Shrake's Custer's Brother's Horse

It isn't often that a small independent bookstore has the privilege of presenting a new novel by a Texas literary legend, but that's what's happening October 13 when Edwin "Bud" Shrake comes to Alpine to release his first major Texas novel in decades. Custer's Brother's Horse is set in east-central Texas just after the Civil War and features a motley crew of adventurers, soldiers, outlaws, religious fanatics, displaced slaves, political opportunists, and scalawags.

Shrake is an accomplished journalist and screenwriter, as well as the author of highly respected Texas novels. Watch for more details in area media. Cover photo by William D. Wittliff; cover endorsement by Larry McMurtry. From John M. Hardy Publishing.
