Early on the morning of June 11, 1965, a massive flood surprised the residents in the small desert town of Sanderson, Texas. Most people were just getting out of bed or having their first cup of coffee. No one expected the onslaught of a 15-foot wall of water bringing chaos and destruction to the rural community.
This is a collection of stories from the survivors of the flood of that fateful day, told in their words. Put together by various sponsors, the proceeds from this sale will go directly to a pay it forward project for future events in Sanderson sponsored by the Sanderson Chamber of Commerce.
