Tin Cups and China Saucers

by Neville, Joyce (Editor); Cowsar, Clara May Bogel (Editor)

The Big Bend Area of Far West Texas is under-populated today and was scarcely inhabited at all in the late 19th Century when, into this 12,000 square mile area, consisting of Brewster, Jeff Davis and Presidio Counties, came, at random, a remarkably venturesome assortment of men and women from other states and all over Texas.

The editors of this collection of memoirs of women who were early day settlers in Far West Texas are both descendants of families who were among those pioneers. These memoirs were written by direct descendants of some of these pioneers. The names of those remembered here will be familiar to many of the present-day residents of the Big Bend Area.
